Mark Edwards, CEO
Mr. Edwards brings 25 years of senior executive experience in building market leaders in the computing and telecommunications industries to Aylus Networks. Most recently he was CEO of Mformation Technologies Inc., which he built from the ground up to become the global market leader in mobile device management (MDM) software with over 40 mobile operator customers, and over 160 million devices managed.
Prior to joining Mformation, Mr. Edwards was EVP at Symbian, an operating system (OS) company whose OS has been shipped on over 360 million smartphones around the world and is today part of Nokia Corporation (NOK). Before that he held the position of Managing Director at Psion Computers PLC, a public company and provider of mobile computers and handheld devices, and was CEO and founder of CRT Multimedia Ltd, a provider of computer based training software. He was also a director of the Spring Group PLC, a public software and services company listed on the FTSE. In addition, Mr. Edwards served in senior executive positions at Microsoft where he ran the Windows business for the UK and Ireland, and Hewlett-Packard where he managed a global product line based in the peripherals group.
Shamim Naqvi, Founder, CTO and Chairman
Shamim Naqvi founded Aylus Networks with the vision to change the way people communicate in emerging wireless networks by enabling subscribers to share multimedia in real-time during voice conversations.
Shamim is a well-known industry visionary and technology entrepreneur. Prior to founding Aylus, he was co-founder and chairman of Winphoria Networks, a Cellular Push-to-Talk and wireless SoftSwitch company now part of Motorola Corporation. Previously, Shamim was Vice President of Software Research at Lucent Bell Labs and co-pioneer of the revolutionary SoftSwitch technology for wireline and wireless networks.
Prior to Lucent, Shamim was the Chief Scientist and Chief Technology Officer for the Internet Business unit at Bellcore (Telcordia), where he was responsible for some of the industry's earliest e-commerce technologies such as Internet Advertising Servers, Billing for Micro-Transactions and Streaming Multimedia content. Before his post at Bellcore, Shamim was the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Logical Information Machines. Shamim has also held executive positions at Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation and AT&T Bell Labs.
Shamim has authored dozens of patents with dozens more under review in wireless and wireline technologies. Shamim is a distinguished speaker, and has presented and instructed at major universities around the globe, including MIT, Stanford, University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers, and in Europe. Shamim is a graduate of Cambridge University and Northwestern University in Illinois.
Ramsey Masri, VP of Global Sales and Marketing

Ramsey has more than 20 years of sales and marketing management experience in the software and telecommunications industries. Before joining Aylus, he served as VP of Sales, Services and Alliances at Mformation, the leading provider of mobile device management (MDM) solutions, where he developed successful relationships with key global operators and business partners in the Americas, Asia and Europe.
Prior to joining Mformation, Ramsey was Vice President and General Manager of the Service Provider business unit at Critical Path, which focused on mobile messaging and value-added services for wireless carriers. Ramsey was responsible for global sales, product marketing, and alliances, where he managed business dealings with leading European, American and Asian carriers and forged strong relationships with HP, LogicaCMG (now Acision), Accenture and IBM.
Prior to Critical Path, Ramsey spent twelve years at Oracle in a variety of sales and managerial roles. He focused on both wireline and wireless carriers, positioning Oracle’s entire range of products and applications. Ramsey holds a B.A. in History from the University of California, Berkeley.
Prakash Iyer, VP of Products
Prakash Iyer, VP of Products, brings to Aylus Networks more than ten years of experience in mobile, digital media, Internet and telecom technologies, as well as the management of local and remote engineering teams.
Prior to joining Aylus Networks, Prakash founded and served as CTO of envIO networks, inc. (now part of SkyWeaver), a venture-backed provider of a unique platform for enabling the social marketing of mobile content. Prior to envIO, he was Senior Director of Engineering at Motorola, Inc., leading product development for their Push to Talk over Cellular (PoC) and IMS development efforts. He joined Motorola through the acquisition of Winphoria Networks, where he served as Senior Director of Engineering. Prior to Winphoria, Prakash served as a Department Head and a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Lucent Technologies Bell Labs.
Prakash has co-authored eight issued patents, and has a number of pending patent applications in the telecom infrastructure and applications space. He earned his Master of Science, Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Delaware, and his Bachelor of Technology, Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India.
Kevin Durkin, VP of Finance

Kevin brings to Aylus Networks more than 20 years of financial and operational experience in technology companies. Before joining Aylus, Kevin was Corporate Controller of Casenet, a venture-backed provider of health care management solutions.
Prior to joining Casenet, Kevin was Director of Finance for Salary.com, a company which he helped take public in 2007. Kevin joined Cisco Systems through the acquisition of ArrowPoint Communications, where he played a key role in their initial public offering. He began his career in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche LLP.
Kevin earned a B.A. in Economics from Hobart College and a M.S./M.B.A. from Northeastern University, and is a Certified Public Accountant .
