Enabling Mobile Video Communications
Many companies claim to optimize video for the mobile network, but only Aylus enables the delivery of live video as an integral part of the communication session. The Aylus Video Platform™ is an integrated solution that includes video switching, signaling and processing, session management, content portal and storage management, and analytics. It is a scalable, carrier-grade, reliable and highly flexible video switching and processing platform that enables operators and content providers to deliver high-quality, real-time video communication services to their subscribers today, while reducing network bandwidth consumption and improving the quality of the subscriber experience with mobile video services.
The Aylus Video Platform is intelligently designed to reduce bandwidth where it’s most valuable, in the mobile RAN, and enable mobile operators and service providers to deliver a high-quality, live video experience to a wide range of devices. With this platform, you can support live mobile video services today with the network you have right now.
No other solution on the market today delivers a more rich video experience to mobile users on a more practical, bandwidth-optimized platform.
Video Switch & Processor
Aylus' patented video switching and processing platform (also known as a Media Resource Function (MRF)) is unique in the industry. This is more than offline video transcoding. The Aylus video Platform performs real-time video transcoding, transizing, and transrating, and then wraps rich session management tools around it to ensure the best possible user experience in the most efficient manner. Sophisticated, built-in technology transcodes the video stream before it reaches the RAN, transizes it for the appropriate end device and screen size, and transrates it based on the available bandwidth. The technology not only optimizes video for the network but also for the endpoint, through intelligent device detection that tailors video delivery to the endpoint device’s screen size and capabilities.
Signaling and control are done through leading standards (SIP, HTTP, IMS, RCS, etc.). Video and audio processing is policy controlled, enabling service delivery to be tailored to network conditions and subscriber service levels. Session management technology orchestrates and optimizes call flows, ensuring the best possible user experience with all types of media. The platform's portal and content storage management capabilities enable operators to develop and offer sophisticated new video services for their customers. Analytics and service control capabilities enable operators to intelligently manage their video processing. Finally, APIs enable access to the capabilities of the platform by third-party and over-the-top communication service vendors. By making Aylus technology an integral part of delivering live video communication services, mobile operators and other service providers can deliver high-quality, live mobile video today without overloading the network.
Deployment
The Aylus Video Platform can be deployed on a variety of hardware platforms, including the MSX 1200 rack-mountable server and MSX 8200 IBM BladeCenter chassis with hot-swappable components for seamless upgrades. It is also available in a NEBS-compliant format on the MSX 1200n and MSX 8200n. In addition, the Aylus Video Platform can be deployed as a full or hybrid cloud solution in the carrier network or in a third-party hosting environment on dedicated hardware, or as a full cloud or hybrid cloud solution.
